AND WHEN IT RAINSwill you always find an escape? - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Myles loved the park. It was one of the few places in L.A. that wasn't a road or a building. He liked to sit at the base of a tree and just... think. He was pretty simple like that. The kind of guy who lived by the whole, all I need is the air I breathe and a place to rest my head, sorta motto. He had set out that Saturday afternoon with his camera in hand. He never went anywhere without his camera. It lived in his hand, you could say. Photography was what he lived for, and what he made his life revolve around most of the time. He waved bye to his sister, whom he shared an apartment with, and headed toward the park. His realm. Oh how he loved the park and the time he wasted when he could escape to it.
He loved to roam around and take pictures of people. Gorgeous people, old people, babies. But mostly, he'd take a picture of anyone doing anything interesting. He loved it when he'd look back through film and he'd see a shot of an unsuspecting subject, and they'd look like they posed to look that way. He had black and white photographs of people from the park all over the place. Black and whites were always his favorite of all. He liked the classic vibe of it. Amazing as it was, Myles was generally quiet, artsy, and caring. And, best of all, he wasn't gay. It was a rare find. He'd been asked if he was gay multiple times, but he'd never really taken it to heart. He knew that he was just a special straight guy.
As Myles walked, he snapped a few shots here and there, loving the afternoon sunshine that hit his body. He'd been kind of stiff that morning, he must have been sleeping weird, he'd decided, so the sunshine felt good as he shuffled across the grass and plopped down on his favorite bench and looked around. His eyes fell onto a familiar face, and he yelled out, "Hey, Norah!" Norah was one of his newer friends, one that he'd met recently. He'd taken to her pretty quickly, and she seemed sweet. And like a good prospect for a friend. He didn't think he'd in a million years find her in his happy little corner of the park, but hey, that's fate, right? Maybe. He also was a big believer in fate, and what's ment to happen will happen. He was raised that way, and it'd always seemed to make sense. So he also believed everything happened for a reason. So far he hadn't had any reason not to think that Norah was a sign of good things to come. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - status: complete tag: norah words: 462 clothes: click lyrics: when it rains - paramore credit: SERIALKILLER, at CAUTION! notes: kinda icky, but I suck at first posts. xD

soon we're headed to a place
where i'll prove, i'm all you want and more you just need to let it unfold - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Most people only saw the outside in Norah, something that completely annoyed her. Unless you met her in school, or just out during the day, you could see her mellow, calm, and friendly side; the side she'd always want to make a first impression on. But sadly, most people only saw her wild side. The persona that came out at parties, the risk-taker bad girl who just liked to have a good time. So she liked to let go? There was nothing wrong with that. She wasn't headed towards rehab, and she was failing school. As far as she was concerned, she was just enjoying every bit of life. Her father had taught that life was short, and if you live by the rules, you're living by the reigns, and everything was holding you back. Poor Gavin hadn't intended anything bad by it, he just wanted his daughter to get the most out of her life. She wished he could be here to thank him for that advice. She held it near and dear to her now.
Sliding her hands comfortably in the pockets of her shorts, she walked along the pathway of Griffith Park. The small lake was coming up soon; her favorite spot to just sit down and relax. The bag strap laying limply on her arm contained her means of entertainment for now. She'd been hooked into reading 'The Picture of Dorian Grey' for about the thousandth time. It was one of her favorites, and armed with that her iPod and some other essentials like a blanket, she made her plans to sit down on the perfect green grass by the water, and just relax. It was hot outside she noticed as the afternoon sun began to glint in her eye, causing her to raise a hand to block it. Those pesky rays could make her blind, she swore it.
With all intentions of continuing one down the pathway to the lake, at a small crossroads of the path she noticed a small bench with a boy sitting on it. Normally, Norah would've stuck on her flirting face, the sure fire way for her to score some company, but right now she just wanted to relax, and didn't really feel like putting in the effort to hooking some guy underneath her charm. Not that it took a lot of effort, usually she was quite the ambitious person. It was her cousin, and roommate, Aaron who was the lazy one. As his motto goes 'E for Effort leads to F for Fuck it'. She smiled to herself with a shake of her head, a wisp of her dark brown hair sweeping itself into her face. A hand softly raised to disgard it from her view, but it whipped back into her face as she turned at the sound of her name. Who the hell was calling her? There wasn't anyone around but-
Her eyes caught onto the boy on the bench with the camera. Myles Halse. She'd only met him recently and yet the gentle features of his face had made her smile. He was a nice boy, sweet, and friendly. The kind that she definitely couldn't corrupt. Her thin, pretty lips immediately turned up at the corners, as she raised her elegant fingers to wriggle in his direction as her feet took her the same way, "Hey you, she spoke lightly, before stopping herself in front of the bench, a soft smile resting upon her lips as she looked into the pretty green eyes of the handsome boy, "What are you up to?"
Looks like she'd be having some company today. But then again like her father had always said, 'carpe diem, sweetheart'.

AND WHEN IT RAINSwill you always find an escape? - - - - - - - - - - - - - - His eyes traced her body as she moved. But then, not in a perverted way, Myles was just very observant. And he liked her walk. It was the type that had a slight bounce to it, as if she just couldn't wait to get where she was going. It made him smile. "I'm just spending another day with my camera. I'm thinking about asking it to marry me." He smiled sarcastically, his witty side trying desperately to push out another goofy comment. That was his thing. His sarcasm was his personality, and you either loved him or hated him for it. As amusing as he could be, he could also come off as an ass and be completely annoying. It all just depended, like so much else, on your point of view.
He was quiet pretty much always, unless he was drunk. For a quiet guy, Myles was louder than a freight train crashing into a building when he was drunk. He was known for dancing on tables and singing the words to whatever song happened to be on at the top of his lungs. He was also known for being able to hold his liquor like none other. He'd once gone through a record amount of tequila without getting sick once that night. He'd felt it in the morning though. Maddox and Malachi were his party buddies, and there were pictures of the Malicious M's all over. Most of which showed that they were gripping each other for support and were laughing hysterically at something that probably wasn't even funny. But that was just the way it was. It was the way he'd always seen it to be, and he didn't think he'd like it any other way.
Getting past his lack of self control when under the influence, he wasn't that wild. But then we'd already established that. Most people loved him because he was one of those people that could distract you from everything with one glance. Myles blamed his Dutch blood for that. Most people blamed his unique blue eyes and sharp facial features. But whichever way you cut it, Myles was pretty loved. He picked up his camera so that it was no longer balancing dangerously off the top of his knee, and snapped a quick shot of Norah while she wasn't paying attention. He glanced down at the screen, noticing how the sun hit her face instantly. He pulled the little screen closer to his face, and grinned. She was really gorgeous, even on the itty bitty camera screen. "Couldn't resist," he said with a sheepish grin as he glanced up, waiting for the 'I can't believe you just took my picture' speech he'd been used to receiving from all his friends. Alaska was the only one who didn't freak out when she was captured randomly, but then she was his sister and was used to it by now. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - status: complete tag: norah, obvi words: 489 clothes: click lyrics: when it rains - paramore credit: SERIALKILLER, at CAUTION! notes: i LOVE the aaron motto. i read it like three times to make sure i wasn't hallucinating, and then i laughed like mad. xD

soon we're headed to a place
where i'll prove, i'm all you want and more you just need to let it unfold - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -There was something genuinely enticing about Myles. Maybe it was just to her -no, scratch that, it had to be known to everyone. HAD TO. She couldn't help but let a soft smile relay across her face as she sat next to him, pulling her medium sized brown bag onto her lap. Here she was thinking that she was just going to have a slightly normal day -well that went out the window when her Aaron opened the door on her in her room tearing up to Katy Perry's 'Thinking of You'. She was so damn emotional. Upon seeing her face, and hearing the song she watched rubbing her eyes as Aaron keeled over in the loudlest laughter that she'd ever heard, not to mention high pitched. But he was taken care of with a simple fling of a shoe at his face. It still didn't stop him from making fun of her as she left their home. Her self consciousness had made her change the station when the song came on in her car. No need for more emotional unstability.
She'd noticed Myles' eyes seeping over her as she walked over and sat down, and she hid a small smirk at the thought that he was watching her. It didn't look like he was checking her out but she coudn't put a finger on what exactly the look entailed. The unknowing feeling gave her a rush, one that she liked, and internally hoped would be showing up a lot more. She had a feeling it would. Her emerald colored eyes trailed up to his face as his eyes centered on hers, "I'm just spending another day with my camera. I'm thinking about asking it to marry me." she caught onto his sarcastic humor. Her eyes took in his wonderful features as they shifted to allow a cheeky smile to rise over his face, she wanted to kiss his mother, and father.
Playing off at his comment, Norah's clean eyebrows furrowed in pain, and she rose a hand to her heart gasping as she looked at him like he'd betrayed her, "I'm appalled. Myles! I thought we were getting married? How could you?!?!" shaking her head she turned away from him for a moment before looking back to him with a smile on her face, before laughing softly. She liked that he was mellow and real, it was a refreshing change from a lot of the assholes of LA. Myles was just Myles, and she liked that. Looking down to his camera she smiled, as her mind drifted into thoughts of what kind of pictures were bestowed within his memory card. Of course she'd seen the pictures of Myles, Malachi, and Maddox or the 'Malicious M's' in different places. Most of them were party pictures where the boys were showing a very bromantic hug without different looks on each of their faces, but all cute none the less. She'd seen their drunken pictures, with these faces a bit mangled and twisted, but still entertaining.
But she wanted to see his photography, photos that he took with thoughts, and emotions, because maybe she could feel them too. He might even like her paintings, but then again she wasn't one to boast her artwork around. There was no to go around screaming 'HEY GUYS, I'M A PAINTER, ISN'T THAT COOL?' because no, Norah. It's nothing special. In the midst of her short thoughts, she subconsciously sensed him move but when a small click was heard she snapped from her thoughts seeing Myles's camera raised in her direction. A picture. She chuckled at the thought of how out of it she must've looked, before looking at him. He was raising the camera to his face, and inspecting the photo, the smallest hints of a smile encountering his lips nicely, before his pretty cerulean eyes glanced up in her direction. Adorable. "Couldn't resist," he spoke his grin stretching wider and wider as if he was waiting for her lips to mirror his own -which they did of course.
Scooting herself closer to him, she leaned over as the skin of her thigh where her pale green shorts didn't reach pressed against his own as she leaned over to the camera to sneak a peak at the picture with a smile, her eyes quickly switching to his with a bit of a twinkle in her irises. She ignored the proximity of their faces which wasn't dangerously close, but was indeed closer than before, "Sooo, do I get to see this picture or are you going to hide it from me?" she asked playfully as she set her bag to her left on the bench and off over her lap exposing her things. She crossed her legs letting one of her gold sandals pop into view.
Hopefully with her closeness to him she wasn't making him uncomfortable. That was the last thing she wanted - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - POST STATUS: done. AND WHEN IT RAINSwill you always find an escape? - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The world was amazing in the way it worked. How a smile seemed to be contagious made Myles feel even warmer inside, the afternoon sunshine making him feel at ease with the life around him. All in all, the day had been pretty good. It'd been very laid back and drama-free, so Myles was quite happy. But then he usually was happy, almost like a perpetual state. He'd often gotten made fun of for his ever present smile and his lack of "male emotions" that revolved around being pissed off and macho. Myles thought that was retarded. He'd seen his father act that way, and more importantly, he'd seen how it effected his mother. He wanted to put no one through the emotional strain that he saw her be put through. He'd managed to make good with most of his relationships, but a lot of the time he didn't like flings. They seemed to cause more damage than they were worth. So he usually kept his pants up and his morals intact. It was hard, but he managed. With some ridicule, of course, but whatever. He didn't really care what people thought of him. He liked him just fine, and that was good enough in his book. Really, he could have lived his life in a bubble and been happy. He was simple enough to enjoy the little things in life the most. He knew how to be happy with an afternoon to think, and with a light breeze ruffling his hair at the beach. His own easy going qualities made him happy. He wished that the rest of the world could see life through his eyes. He thought that it might change lives.
Myles laughed at her mock insulted display, his whiter than white by nature teeth in full show, his eyes twinkling with pleasure. He laughed lightly, and then said easily, "Well, you know, I'm not one for promises. They weigh you down. And besides, I'm a Mormon, and we don't discriminate against multiple wives." He chuckled lightly, and then realized that maybe he was being a bit too sarcastic. He was always horrible at controlling his urges, and even more challenged with holding back his witty comments. Well, at least the comments that he thought were so witty that he should be writing movie scripts. This of course, would have been a horrible occupation for him. He'd have insanely out there characters and they'd all be so cynical and sarcastic no one would be able to stand watching the show. And besides, Myles wasn't much of a writer. At all. He'd practically failed every English class he'd ever had to take. He was more of a speaker. He could come up with a speech that was so well thought out on the fly, that it was amazing. He could convince you to do something or buy something within two minutes half the time, and he was a firm believer in a picture says a thousand words. His mother had always told him he must have been a used car salesman in a past life, because no other way could he have the skills of persuasion that he had. He was pretty multi-talented when it came to art, he thought, and he thought it was weird. He also played a little bit of guitar, but making music had proven to be too complicated for him. So he stuck to hiding behind his camera.
A smile parted his lips once more as she spoke again, and he stared down at the screen once more. "Well...." he trailed off thoughtfully. He debated the pros and cons of letting her into his own little world. He liked the capture, but he feared that if she didn't he'd be forced to delete it. But he didn't think Norah was that type of person, so he rolled his eyes dramatically as he sighed and handed her the camera, his baby. "I guess it's only fair that you get to see the amazing talents that I have when you're used as inspiration." He said the words playfully, but he meant what he said. He gave her a sheepish look. He was always embarrassed when people looked at his photos. He lived for them, and he was always worried that people would look at them and see something differently than he did; see them through a point of view that kept them from seeing the real beauty in the capture. His work was the only thing that he held close, and he always kept the best of it for himself. He had a huge book of pictures hidden beneath his bed. They were all of people he'd seen on the street or in the park, some black and whites mixed in among brilliant color shots. This book was filled with the best pictures he'd ever taken, the ones in the front dating back to when he was seven or eight. These were never shown to anyone. They were his and only his, the only thing that he had for himself. Not even his sister had seen them, and if she knew about the book she'd find it and take away his paradise. He didn't want that. Myles smiled lightly as she tried to peek over his shoulder, her leg touching his, her face just inches from his. He gave her a look that clearly showed his restraint. He'd wanted nothing more than to kiss her then, but he barely knew her, and he wasn't about to let his self-control leave him this early. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - status: complete tag: norah, obvi words: 938 clothes: click lyrics: when it rains - paramore credit: SERIALKILLER, at CAUTION! notes: he seems like it =P

soon we're headed to a place
where i'll prove, i'm all you want and more you just need to let it unfold - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - It was sad how infectious he was. It wasn't even just his laugh, or his smile, it was just....him. Norah had never encountered anyone like that with as many people as she's met. He'd laughed at her countering sarcasm at his marriage ideas to his camera. She saw the small sparkle within his pretty cerulean colored irises as she looked at him back with a similar smirk resting softly over her lips. His voice was calm, and relaxed like joking with her was something they'd done they're entire lives, "Well, you know, I'm not one for promises. They weigh you down. And besides, I'm a Mormon, and we don't discriminate against multiple wives." her eyes widened a bit at him playfully as he laughed softly again. It was a pretty, soft, and whimsical laugh, one that she could listen to for an extended period of time if given the chance.
Once more, Norah threw on the sad face, and the puppy eyes, and place her hand over her heart, and clenched her eyes closed a bit, folding her lips in pain. She winced for a moment dramatically, before shaking her head as she opened her emerald colored eyes to face his own, trying hard to hide a smile, "That hurts Myles....deep down," she cut off the smirk dropping her hands a bit with a giggle. Norah had always been a person to joke around. She was actually a bit of prankster when she was younger in school. She'd learned from her father; God how she missed him. She was the epitome of a daddy's girl when she was younger, baseball game outings, eating contest and playing catch in the backyard. Her father, Gavin had given her one of his New York Yankee baseball hats when she was little, and she never took it off. Especially after his accident, but after her move to Virginia Beach, she'd placed into a box with everything that reminded her of him, minus a few pictures. It hurt too much to see them frequently. That kind of pain didn't need to be re-lived. He was her world, and she was snatched away from him, it all just wasn't fair.
A calm breeze etched its way across her face, pushing some hair into her view, reminding her of where she was at the moment. Not the time or place to space out, especially on that topic. The mood would go south very quickly. Turning to Myles, that's when the flash went off. The picture he'd taken of her which she was sure must've been bad, she'd been avoiding the sun from hitting her face too hard, and he'd caught her off guard. Leaning over nicely with a small smile she asked to see the picture. Her eyes inspected his face, the smooth looking skin down to his lips as he looked down to the camera probably looking at the picture and her most likely 'attractive' face (notice the sarcasm). Her eyes moved to his own as he spoke, looking a bit on edge at even the idea of letting her see the pictures, "Well....," she waited as he was clearly debating with himself on whether or not he should allow her to set her pretty colored eyes over his work. Norah could understand she was pretty protective about her artwork, it was a feeling of rejection by another's eyes that kept her from exposing them to everyone. They were nice in her eyes, but she always feared that someone wouldn't see what she would see that was great about them. Maybe he felt the same?
She smirked as he sighed exaggeratedly, and held the camera out to him with a playful roll of his eyes. Her fingers reach up to cradle the camera within her grip, her elegant fingers brushing against his as she turned it towards herself, her head perking up at his words, "I guess it's only fair that you get to see the amazing talents that I have when you're used as inspiration." he spoke with amusement, but slightly serious. Her eyes glued themselves to the cheeky look on his face, he was so adorable. Almost as if he were embarassed to allow her eyes to glaze over his work. Like she'd thought, she understood. Keeping her face happy, she felt her cheeks burn a bit, the pigments no doubt turning a gentle crimson at his words. Norah giggled a bit to cover up her hitch of breath, "Is that so? Well, then I'd be able to do wonders with you as mine, then huh? she spoke lowly, adding a wink of her eye in his direction.
Her gaze switched to the camera as she began to sift through the pictures. They'd started her back at the very first one on the camera. Her lips twitched upwards as she took time to look at each picture as she went. Most of them were of various environments, and people. There were pictures of this very park, the nature around him, the people. A picture of a happy couple that was probably walking by had caught her eye. The picture showed them smiling as they looked deeply at one another, their hands intertwined at their sides. It captured the love and beauty of the two perfectly. The sunlight gently illuminating their features. She marveled at the thought of him snapping the picture as they walked by him, oblivious to his art form in progress. Did he simply snap the picutre? Surely they didn't slow down. He had a skill, an eye for his art form, and she only admired him more for it as she stayed on the one picture, "Wow," she breathed out softly with a gentle smile. She looked at him in the eyes for a moment, "These are beautiful, Myles. The details of the pictures are wonderful, you've got a raw talent, you know," she spoke with a smile as she nodding approvingly at him. Her eyes averted back to the camera, skimming to the next picture. She tilted her head a bit as she looked at it. She couldn't tell what it was.
"I don't mean to be an asshole or anything," she spoke taking a good look at the picture with her eyes squinted. It looked like a macro shot, a close up of something but she couldn't tell what, "but what is that?" she asked curiously, as she handed him the camera softly allowing him to look at the picture in question. Scooting a bit closer, now is when she felt her bare thigh press against his leg, and she leaned a over his shoulder a bit, their faces a bit closer than before. She looked at the picture listening as he explained it to her. She nodded finally, before looking at his face as well, a different expression resting across his features than before, like he was holding back from something. She kept her small smile over her lips as she looked at his enticing blue eyes once more. She kept herself controlled, because if not she would've closed the rest of the space between their pretty faces, and pressed her lips against his. God, it was so hard not to. But she made a promise to herself at that moment; he couldn't be another victim. He wasn't going to be just some guy with her, if she had any say in the situation, he'd be around for a while. He wasn't like the others.
Snapping herself from her gaze into his pretty eyes, she perked up and spoke a bit breaking their short silence"So, I still haven't seen this picture. I wanna, see if I can do better a better one of you," she spoke poking his thigh gently with one of nicely manicured finger nails, as she looked down to the camera within his hands waiting for him to click to the next photo.
